Hello, here's my feedback on patch v0.8.6:

I used method 2, from memory:
- Disable services
- Kaspersky Tweak Lite
- Re-enable services
I reset Kaspersky at 8 a.m., but unfortunately around 11 a.m., the license expired again.

So I wanted to use method 1, Complete Uninstallation of Kaspersky.
- The process is long.
- I had a very unpleasant surprise. I had created a Kaspersky folder and a copy of this folder elsewhere on my hard drive, containing my license keys, installation exe, my uninstaller, and several test search files, including registry keys, because I was also looking for a solution. Result : these two folders have completely disappeared !!! Why ??? Is it because of the patch ???

I had also created a virtual machine for testing on Kaspersky, which also disappeared !!!

I'm frankly disgusted, because all my tests, research, everything is gone forever !!! 😭

I just have to start all over again. 😡

It's impossible to know how the patch works, which keys and files have been modified. The patch is very large, with a large RAR archive (what's the point ?).

I have a lot of questions about this patch, and I no longer trust the patch, I lost files and I don't think I want to test it again, or even the next ones that JgDuff will offer. So be careful before using it, at your own risk...

I don't recommend the experiment.

You’ve got to be kidding me. (You don't back up to an external drive like everyone else?)
First of all, you don't make a backup of files on your operating system only to leave it on your operating system. You save it elsewhere.
That's the whole point of a "backup"... Only restore points should remain on your machine..

So.. Sorry for your files but...
It's very clearly stated in the Uninstall/(Re)Install patch option, (Removes ALL TRACES of Kaspersky from your system).
Anything that has the name "Kaspersky/AVP/kav" will be deleted. That’s why the patch changed its name from "Kaspersky" to "Kaspy."

Everything has been checked and rechecked, and it’s very reliable. But I was expecting someone like you sooner or later.
There’s always someone like you who comes trying to destroy what we do passionately and solely for others.
(I’ll repeat: I have no personal interest in making this patch. I don’t have this deactivation issue, nor do I earn a single cent from it.)

It's also clearly mentioned at the BEGINNING of the tutorial to "CREATE A RESTORE POINT IN CASE THERE IS A PROBLEM."
I think you rushed things and now you're just looking for someone to blame so you can vent your frustration.
I repeat: EVERYTHING has been tested and retested over and over again on two competing virtual machines and on a real PC (my own PC).

As for everything you say was deleted — if it had the name "Kaspersky/AVP/kav," then yes, it's normal. As for license keys and such, if the word "Kaspersky/AVP/kav" wasn't in the filename or content, the patch didn't touch them. The patch does nothing more than what it's supposed to do.

...And you say it doesn't work... Did you (re)enable location services? (Because you shouldn't have to if everything works properly.)
Did you at least watch the videos?

It's impossible to know how the patch works, which keys and files have been modified. The patch is very large, with a large RAR archive (what's the point ?).

Every time I make a patch readable by everyone, I find my codes on other websites under different names, sometimes even used without any shame and directly copy-pasted here on forums, credited to others.
There's a reason for everything in life.

I've been making patches for 25 years — for PC, PS3, PS4 — and now I'm at it again with PS5, and it's always the same thing.
Now you understand why it's not readable?

You're not the first to be shocked by it, but also ask yourself how many hours of work were stolen from me to get to this point.

...And the .RAR file contain Kavremover, Kaspersky Tweak Lite, Desktop Runtime and Kaspersky Installation
+ The recovery data from the .RAR file that WinRAR creates, which doubles the file size during compression, but makes the files more secure to prevent corruption... In other words, to be clear, everything is 100% clean and reliable.
You would have known if you had followed the updates.

...Well... To conclude, Wondershare RecoverIt can restore your deleted files...
Wondershare RecoverIt v13.5.19.2

Better than "Recuva" 😉

So I'm absolutely not trying to destroy your work or anyone else's. I'm having a hard time with Kaspersky, so I'm taking whatever I can. I respect your work. I've already tried several of your patches (without success so far), and I'm also doing some research on my own, which hasn't yielded much so far (and won't yield much now).

Of course, I created a restore point, but that only restores the system, not personal files. It clearly states that this removes all traces of Kaspersky, meaning any trace of the Kaspersky program that was installed. But I had no idea that this would also affect my personal folders and my virtual machine, which I renamed "Kaspersky." This should have been more clearly stated, for example: Warning! If you have created personal folders named "Kaspersky," they will also be deleted!

Or, if your patch detects a Kaspersky folder in an unusual location, ask if it should be deleted too.

I watched the videos, of course, but I haven't reactivated location services.

Regarding the deactivation issue you're not experiencing, I might be able to explain something—I mean, maybe!

Last year, on one of my PCs, I had this deactivation issue after 3 hours, and I ended up completely reinstalling Windows. Kaspersky was activated the first time with the 92-day key, and it worked without any problems. If I ran a trial reset a few days later (for example, 10 or 20 days after the first activation), there was no problem; the license never expired. If, on the other hand, I waited just before the end of the 92 days, for example, 13 days before the end of the trial period, the trial reset worked, but the license expired after a few hours. This could be a lead... worth investigating.

It's clearly stated during the process that it's not JUST the software.
You do have the step-by-step information, but I'll admit that YES, it could definitely be made even clearer.
Your message is constructive. I'll see what I can do... Thank you 🙂
