I'm having trouble resetting the trial version of (KIS) Kaspersky Internet Security. I'm using version 21.3.10 (Hotfix M). It's an older, lighter version. I tried the latest version of Total Security and noticed a performance loss. I decided to keep the old version because it works well for me. Using Reset Trial version 5.0.0, I managed to reset several times, and each time I got approximately 60 days to test. This time, the entire process went smoothly, but when I activated it, it reverted to the information from the last activation. I noticed that there's a more recent version of the tool, 5.7.3, and I've also tried a few times, but the problem persists. Everything works fine, but when I click the button to activate trial mode, the server apparently identifies my last successful attempt and retrieves the date and the same serial number. This way, I can't extend the trial period. I've tried manually deleting the key, but every time I try to activate it again, the old date resets, leaving only two days before it expires.

Even though I've never needed to run the Reset patch in safe mode, I've tried activating it in safe mode, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can try?

you can try the lic file here working until 19. dec.2025

before resetting Kis you have to clean up the registries of kis and then reset it with KTL 5.7.3

this bat bat file can clean kis registries easily

Even before reading your reply, I had found this license file, mentioned to another user. I was able to use it, but it causes an error. Apparently, this serial number is for the KTS version of Kaspersky Total Security. The application requires me to download the corresponding version to continue using it.

I was hopeful about your tip about cleaning the registries. Although I've never needed to perform this cleaning, perhaps the latest update may have included this requirement. I ran the .BAT file you shared. I received some successful messages about deleted registries and others with errors about not being found. After running the .BAT file, I used the tool KTL 573, but the problem persists.

Perhaps this .BAT file is specific to Kaspersky Total Security. Perhaps I needed to delete the registries specific to Kaspersky Internet Security. The problem is that I use an older version. I'm a little wary of deleting the keys in the Windows registry (Regedit) and erasing some keys necessary for the application to function properly. Could you tell me how to locate it?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I run the .bat again. This is the result. (check the attached image)

I examined the command lines of the .bat file. I manually searched for any files that were not found in the report.

C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Data\stor_kav.bin
C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Data\stor_kis.bin
C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Data\stor_pure.bin
C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Data\stor_saas.bin
C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Data\cat_engine*

I used the "DIR /A /S *stor_*" command at the command prompt to try to locate each of them. None of the .bin files were found in any subfolder of the "Kaspersky Lab" directory. I was only able to find four "cat_engine" files, but they were all in another location: "C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Bases\Cache".
The four files found were these:
cat_engine1DE7C384-414F-234D-8496-954C20A03B67
cat_engine47D338A7-589A-0444-BFA7-D36375E6EF1C
cat_engine65DE8F62-8082-BB4A-A358-CCF38130B1D2
cat_engine341FAEE2-AB7D-F244-8303-F6771BF848C3

I backed up the files before deleting them. I ran KTL5.7.3 again and reactivated the KIS trial version. I received a successful activation message, giving me 58 days to test, but it didn't even last 2 minutes. A few seconds later, I received a pop-up informing me of only 2 days left until expiration. The data from the previous activation, made in August 2025, was restored. Perhaps the KIS version uses other .bin files to be deleted, but I don't know which ones. It's possible that this .BAT file is for Kaspersky Total Security.

In any case, I'm sharing my attempts. It might work for others with a newer version, as I use the 2-year-old Kaspersky Internet Security.

why do you install the new version ? there's a script to use before installing kaspersky and the license can be resetted by itseft
Good idea. I'll wait the remaining two days before it expires. I still have my offline version in my language. The procedure should be the same. Thanks.

These log files are the part of the .bat file that I received the successfully executed report from, but I'll try deleting it manually as well. I'm in Brazil, and the time zone is a bit of a problem. I can't test it at the moment, but I'll test it later and share the results with you. I really appreciate your persistence in bringing up possibilities.

Good news. 😎😎😎 The license file you shared worked. I was given 30 days to find a solution. Everything indicates that the file was made available last month, on September 17th, and allowed 58 days for testing. It expires on November 14th. I'll have another month to find a definitive solution.

I tried resetting again using KTL 5.7.3, this time manually deleting the registry keys, but it didn't work. The developers must have implemented a new verification method that KTL 5.7.3 can't identify. I may have to wait for a new version of KTL to be released, and I'll have to hope it works on the KIS version.

In any case, your help was very helpful. I've gained another 30 days. I'll continue looking for a solution. If I find one, I'll let you know.
