Kaspersky Tweak Lite 5.7.3 Final (Latest Released on 18-FEB-2025)

I'm having trouble resetting the trial version of (KIS) Kaspersky Internet Security. I'm using version 21.3.10 (Hotfix M). It's an older, lighter version. I tried the latest version of Total Security and noticed a performance loss. I decided to keep the old version because it works well for me. Using Reset Trial version 5.0.0, I managed to reset several times, and each time I got approximately 60 days to test. This time, the entire process went smoothly, but when I activated it, it reverted to the information from the last activation. I noticed that there's a more recent version of the tool, 5.7.3, and I've also tried a few times, but the problem persists. Everything works fine, but when I click the button to activate trial mode, the server apparently identifies my last successful attempt and retrieves the date and the same serial number. This way, I can't extend the trial period. I've tried manually deleting the key, but every time I try to activate it again, the old date resets, leaving only two days before it expires.

Even though I've never needed to run the Reset patch in safe mode, I've tried activating it in safe mode, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can try?
maybe you got unlucky (or me lucky) because i'm running the same kis version as you, and t just reseted the trial using kaspersky tweak lite 5 without any problem, like always. no safe mode needed. maybe something to do with the windows version??? i'm on 10

I'm also using Windows 10. The only thing that's happened recently were some Windows Update updates. My OS is genuine, and I've never needed to disable updates. Two or three days ago, I received an official message from Microsoft informing me that support was discontinued and that they'd offer a year of extended support, but this message came after I had a problem resetting KIS.

It's possible that an update is preventing KTL from modifying the necessary files. In this case, I'd need someone who understands how the tool works so I can try to change the values manually.

hi you have to delete this too :
REG DELETE HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\SPC /f
REG DELETE HKLM\SOFTWARE%WOW6432%\KasperskyLab\AVP21.3\Data\LicCache /f
REG DELETE HKLM\SOFTWARE%WOW6432%\KasperskyLab\AVP21.3\Data\LicensingActivationErrorStorageLogic /f
REG DELETE HKLM\SOFTWARE%WOW6432%\KasperskyLab\AVP21.3\Data\UPAO /f
REG DELETE HKLM\SOFTWARE%WOW6432%\KasperskyLab\LicStrg /f
then reboot pc and activate it .

add some lic files for kaspersky total and internet security

I haven't had any luck using a VPN to activate with Russian keys yet. As soon as I have time, I'll try connecting my computer through a bridge. The idea is to use another computer with a Russian VPN and grant routed access to the computer with KIS.

As soon as I have more specific information, I'll share the results.

Could you tell me the last time you were able to reset using KTL5? Perhaps you could use the tool to share the .lic license with me. That way, I could gain time to analyze what's going on.

i did it about 3 hours ago. will the lic work on your computer?? it says it's for one computer.

otherwise you still can go the 'hard way'. delete completely kaspersky from pc and then reinstall

Yes, it will work on more than one computer, as it's a trial version. I've already tried reinstalling it. It doesn't work. Activating trial mode always restores my latest trial version, which is expired and says I've already tested the software.

To share the .lic file, you need to use the KTL 5.7.3 tool and generate the file using the "Export" button. By sharing this file, I would be able to use the software for the same period, assuming you're actually using the same version as me. If the generated key is for another Kaspersky product, it won't work.

The attached file shows my exact version and the button you use to generate the license file.

you need to remove everything from the computer, using like kaspersky removal tool or software like revo uninstaller. but it's a pain, because you have to rescan all the files on computer....

heres the .dat file generated
Last week, I tried several times to uninstall it. Something must have changed in my Windows. Every time I try to reset the trial version, it restores my activation from over two months ago.

In any case, your license file worked perfectly. It was truly a great help. It's not ideal, but at least this way I can continue using KIS. I used a genuine copy for two years, but the updated version of Kaspersky Total Security was a disaster in my computer. I've been using the trial version with KTL 5.X.X for two years. Only last month did I have problem.

Knowing that you're still using the tool, I can better check Windows Update to find the cause.

Once again, thank you so much for your help.

ps. Sorry for the Portuguese language. I forgot to include the translation in the generated image. It only shows the activation date and expiration date.
Just below it, the remaining days are shown; 57.

same as me. just did an update, everything was fine.

you must have some keys in the registry that do not get deleted. where else could that kind of information be stored?

I've already removed the entries from the Windows Registry. I used a dedicated tool for this and also manually deleted them. User soundtwo gave me some tips, but the problem persists.

I have a theory, but I'm not sure. Whenever I reset the trial version with KTL5.X, an internet connection is required, and KIS accesses the servers to "validate" the key. This doesn't happen when I use an activation with a .dat or .lic file. My theory is that KIS stored a "fingerprint" of my computer, and whenever I access the servers, it flags the software as already tested. A kind of blacklist.

Since you're still using the tool, perhaps this practice is only active in my country... Brazil has a bad reputation for excessive use of unregistered software.

Since it's possible it was a Windows update, I'll use an older version of Windows 10 without the latest updates and test it on another computer. If it works, I can generate a .dat/.lic file and activate the updated version.

But all of this is tiring... I need some time to dedicate myself to this task.

but then, if it stored a fingerprint, it should reject the licences when it updates the database, no?

when using ktl, what option do you choose, TR or TR+activate trial? (ive always use the former)

my windows should be up to date too by the way

I've tried all the variations. I tried it in safe mode. I used the pre-patched 0.9 version. It doesn't work. I don't know what else to try.

Perhaps the server check is just for validation. Once the license is validated, the application doesn't compare it again.
See the attached image. The key is identical, even though there are three different activations.

The check on Kaspersky's servers only occurs using the activation in the application itself, when KTL resets the information. When I use .lic/.dat files, activation is done by KTL and not by KIS.

maybe you'll need to try to see what is happening when adding the lic/dat files with kaspersky rather than with ktl to see if it rejectd the key or not

Does it work with Kaspersky Total 17? I have a previous version of the tweak that worked, but it no longer allows me to reset. Will this one work?

You should be on safe mode to Reset Trial period and get it inject Trial license:
  1. exit Kaspersky and open Kaspersky Tweak Lite 5.3.1.
  2. Click "Normal Mode" (bottom left) and reboot into Safe Mode.
  3. Open KTL again, then click "Disable Self-Defense" (bottom right).
  4. Click "Reset", then confirm to inject the trial code
This dont work for me i go in safe mode open ktl as adm but license still dont work 🙁
